   This week with lack of rain the corn is looking sadder every day.  I drove past what was the best field around yesterday and even it is looking bad.  Planted in early May, then 7-8" of rain and now dry=shallow roots.  There won't be any corn calf high by July 4th here.  Some maybe ankle high that is just now emerging.  There's a 160 by me that maybe has a 60-70% stand at best.
