Farm Business

I am 18, and I am tired of working retail jobs and jobs that  do not benefit me/others. I would like to study and work on a ranch or farm because I believe that it will benefit me in the future. I have always wanted to work with my hands and on a farm you able to do this. Basically, this thread for people to give me advice on how I could start my own farm, general farming advice, and best way to growing/prodcue crops.

Also, if anyone owns a farm, how do you go about "hiring" ranch hands?
