Is The Farmland Top In?

[ Edited ]

As I near the seventh decade (oops - meant eighth decade - that sure soulnds old), sometimes I muse on selling the farm.  Mostly because I'm not sure I would be happy renting it.  But, that thought usually passes.

Nevertheless, as  you've seen iwth other posts here the froth on the top of the farmland beer may be going flat.

Of course, when people start quoting the Wall Street Journal, the news is pretty old.

We haven't had any big sales around here so I can't gauge what the sentiment is.  I'm willing to bet that any good land for sale would bring prices right around what we've seen in the past couple of years.  That is, I don't have any reason to expect a decline in value in the near future.

The county sure doesn't think so; my taxes have gone up again.  :smileyhappy:
