Farm Business

When I went in for my afternoon treat at the gas station, the guys were gathered around, of course the subject of big farmers and high land prices came up, and all these guys agreed the bad times are coming for these operations. I had to disagree with them, most of these larger operations have made so much money the past 3 years that I would think with any management at all these bigger operators are gonna continue to rule. I just don't see anything that could swing the bar back towards the smaller farmer. Sometimes what you convince yourself to believe just isn't reality. I hate to say it, but if I could advise a young person that wasn't born into a lot of wealth I would tell him there is no future in this for the you. What do you guys think do I overestimate the income level of the large operators.
