Accuweather Calling Late September Frosts

Today's fall outlook from Accuweather is suggesting eralier than normal cold snaps for much of the corn belt. If this pans out a lot of northern corn and late beans could be in the line of fire.

Re: Accuweather Calling Late September Frosts

So...........what will be the results of a killing frost 2-3 weeks EARLY?

No doubt about it.........an early hibernation for the bears.        :smileywink:

They had better eat alot between now and then.........

sometimes you better off with the old timers wisdom than a guess from the weatherman. Jens has been proving them wrong lately. And hes getting to be an old timer

I have heard that too for old timers as well.  Not sure what the algorhythum is, but they claim its pretty accurate.

Re: Accuweather Calling Late September Frosts

..............so if I'm reading the development maps correctly, about a half of the corn will be pre-black layer--end of Sep?

cx1 the map is general but the way I interpret it the early frost area should not be confused with the late cold, or maybe it is .......:smileyfrustrated:
