AgPoll: Your corn's condition?

[ Edited ]

Thoughts on comparisons to USDA's most recent assessment (7/22)?

Re: AgPoll: Your corn's condition?

John: how do I answer this poll?

My Kansas corn is a total loss and my Iowa corn still has a good chance at 150.

I had more acres of corn in Ks than Iowa this year.

Right now the best I could average between the two would be 60 bu/ac.

Does that rate as fair or poor as an average?

Just wanting to know how to vote.

60% of the time, it works every time.

Hobby: In this case, I guess it would be fair to vote twice. Good luck with the rest of the growing season, at least with the Iowa crop. -- John

My Kansas crop is all but shot with the exception of 26 acres.  Some has already been ran thru the swather.

2.5" of rain since Saturday has me thinking fair to good in my central Kansas location. But remember we think 120 bu/acre is an excellent dry land yield. Two rounds of hail damage earlier in the season have knocked the top of yields. Hoping for 80 bu at this point.

I voted for excellent. I'm in line for personal record here in southern Ohio. Probably have enough soil moisture to make it. If we don't have some sort of weather disaster in the next month I'm pretty optimistic.

I am in the same area and condition as buckfarmer. Far cry from last year.

I wavered between good and fair and went with fair.  Lots of variablity and a few blank spots will take the average down quickly.

No rain for several weeks.  Lawn is gone dormant.
