OK here Jeff -- I'm 56 and all I ever heard from my dad is ???? Son ! there is something to do on the farm every day ! and if you don't think there is , then you are just fooling yourself ! LOL So i just go ahead and get up early even if I don't think there is something to do so I'm not fooling myself ,, LOL

Here in NW Ohio,  there are lots of acres of corn and beans to harvest yet.  I mudded some corn out yesterday, just to have some grain to put in my last completely empty bin.  I wanted to get some weight in it to help hold it down in the nasty wind.  BEFORE this storm, many fields were too wet to harvest. This may take a freeze now to finish this thing out.  We were in the same boat last year on harvest....Just can't balieve that we would be here two years in a row.  Basis at a local ethanol plant is +38..........this could get interesting later on.

highyields, I just heard that the NYSE is slated to reopen tomorrow morning. Apparently the claim that there was 3 feet of standing water on the NYSE floor was a little exaggerated. Imagine that! 

So, I guess the stocks will have a chance to have a little more elbow-room to make all those adjustments they need to ahead of the election Tuesday. 

Speaking of the election -- and this is about as political as I will get -- I am just excited to be able to watch some football on TV next weekend without getting pummeled with ads telling me how much of a scumbag every politician on earth is! Ha!

Heck, I'd like to see all those traders yelling and screaming at each other in hip waders! Why not?!
