Much has been made of corn imports coming into the southeastern part of the US from Brazil. I talked with a local elevator today that has for years, shipped corn by rail to that part of the country. Just recently, they shipped their first train there since December. Not trying to read too much into this, but could it be that shipping delays are causing that business to pick up? Also wondering if it will continue? The elevator guy also told me they have taken in quite a bit of corn in the last several weeks, and he believes many farmers in the area are down to sweeping their bins.
