E85, Livestock, FROST

With NC Corn @ $4.37, why am I paying $3.29 for a gallon of E85???????????????

Hope the livestock guys are enjoying the break from big-dollar inputs.

Been hearing a lot of chatter on the blogs the crops looking ok - for June 29th.

How's the price of LP doing with the frost talk ?

Re: E85, Livestock, FROST & GDUs

Thought I would give a qick GDU update for SW Minnesota.  Currently YTD around 1350, with only 1000 more GDUs to go for black layer.  A quick math division gives me around 111-days of more 70-degree days (9-10 / day) or 55-days of 80-degree days which puts us around September 22nd on the good side, or Novemeber 17th or so on the bad side?

Hope your crops are further along than most of mine.

Re: E85, Livestock, FROST & GDUs

# 1------- people selling E-85 are most interested in maximizing their margins and  total net income, not seeing how cheaply they can sell it to benefit the ethanol producer by using the most ethanol possible

# 2-------it takes awhile for grain and soybean price changes to work their way through the livestock industry.....

cornhead, you are getting the shaft.  E85 was 2.49 last time I filled.  Buck under E10.

Re: E85, Livestock, FROST

Not sure where you bought your E-85 but Friday I paid $2.49  for E-85 and E-10  was $3.49. CIA.  I was a happy camper.

I think our e85 is staying about $.50 or less below regular.

Re: E85, Livestock, FROST

Just checked. E-85 $3.35, 87 octane 10% ethanol $3.65. Not that I own a car new enough to use it.

Re: E85, Livestock, FROST

Signs yesterday for $3.39 for 10% and $2.39 for E85 in the DM area.

60% of the time, it works every time.
