Floor Talk July 11

Grains and beans were lower in overnight trading as investors are getting out of their long positions ahead of tomorrow's slew of reports. With WASDE and crop production on tap, many people at the board don't want to be overly long in case of some bearish surprise. Wheat was down 6-7 cents, corn was down 6 cents and beans were off by 15 cents. Nothing's changed fundamentally -- it's still hot and dry in the northern Plains and the spring wheat crop is suffering as evidenced by the crop progress report that showed corn and bean ratings fell more than expected and spring wheat conditions continue to decline. In weather news, it's going to be extremely hot in South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri but Indiana and Ohio may see some rainfall. See all the news in today's 3 Big Things at http://www.agriculture.com/news/three-big-things/3-big-things-today-july-11

Here's what happened overnight:

Brent Crude Oil = down 1%

West Texas Intermediate = down 1%

Dollar = up 0.1%

Wall Street = U.S. stock futures lower in pre-market trading.

World Markets = Global stocks lower as oil prices fall.

"Indiana and Ohio may see some rain"  That, my friend is an understatement. I think it was roaringtiger that said we can't get it to shut off!  Ragweed carryout will be great in the ECB because nobody can get in and do any post spraying.

We'll be zippin thru Ohio Monday morning heading east.

Maybe if we drive fast enough we can pull some hot/dry weather along for you.

Just need you to create a diversion so those uniforms don't notice.Smiley Very Happy
