Options expire Friday

Have seen some strange ranges before options exp. This action today even caught me off guard. Sideways to lower ok but 10 lower is a big move. Could we be expecting a low around 404-403 just holding above $4 for Friday dec option exp??

This afternoon 91% of the corn crop is harvested. I wouldn't expect more farmer selling this week. BUT.......many bushels still unpriced and I will say again that is the big headwind.

Re: Options expire Friday

This is off the topic/subject here but a good friend of mine said today the dec. corn/jan bean ratio is 3.12 and it seems beans break around that ratio level. Anyone else see that pattern?

that ratio has historically peaked near 3-3.15/1 ratio, yes... think the highest was 3.30 one summer...noteworthy is not unlike the long term soy charts, the chart of this ratio has been in an uptrend since 2006.

of note also: the wheat/corn ratio stayed in a 1.6/1 ratio or below prior to 9/2007 when it spiked to 2.5/1 and then of course went below 1 afterwards.

ya just never know.

soy ratio: not sure if it is meaningful, but the ratio chart is in a much steeper uptrend than soy charts themselves since the end of 2011.
