corn that looks gorgeous from the road.........12X35 ears...........

fair warning..........this is going to get worse yet...........early stress and then this.........hold on tight.........

EDIT:  and don't shoot the messanger..........not like this should be a surprise.............Hobby, might wanna pull off the side of the road and walk out in those fields..........ears are not there.........and the Japs are horrible in areas too.........

NW IA.   Yep!  No rain for a month and we were living from rain to rain before. Cooler temps(mid to upper 80's) aren't good enough. Need rain like everyone else. Critical time for corn. Lot pollinating this week.

MT, you called it on Iowa.   I know South Dakota is not an "I" state, but 6.1 million corn acres counts for something.  With Iowa going down 16 this week to 46G/E, SD will not be far behind.  SD is still at 60 G/E, but that will take a severe drop next week and each week with no rain.

Driving  alot of SD last two weeks I think that is way to high.

Yes, I think 60 G/E for SD is way too high already.  I'm thinking mid forties tops right now, but it seems the surveys are always lagging by weeks.
