I am sure most have been following the situation half way around the world..........
this could be the start of something pretty bad??????
I assume grains take a vomit if things get out of hand?????
when is this thing going to boil over, you have to assume that every eye is on Iran right now?????
be nice if we had a "CAC", but sadly based on recent events no one is driving the bus which makes this thing that much more toxic?????
do you go ahead and get your grain marketing house in order and assume its not a matter of if but when?????and how far out, 2013????????2014???????????
pretty sad when our government and CAC lets an act of war be brushed off as workplace violence...........
just have a funny feeling this may be the final straw that sends everything........and I mean everything down the crapper........
speaking of which, if you have money setting in equities and mutal funds.........and we do head down the toilet........do you move to cash or switch into more stable assets............and if so WHAT...........just not sure what would be immune given all the other pitfalls and potholes we are trying to side step............
some things to ponder for the weekend..........supposed to be a nice one............

If you are that worried, sell everything and buy gold.
I'm more worried about the new bond buyback.

I'm glad you are able to brush it off and I hope you are right.........
Remember, we send billions of taxpayer dollars to several of those countries over there.........and they send the thank you letters wrapped in gun powder and lead.....
Not sure paper gold is the answer?????

Hmm.
I eat products made from corn and soy every day.
Last time I needed Gold was for my wedding.
Think I'll keep my corn and soy.

I think it is comparable to the 15+ years we ignored the terrorist training camps, continual threats, and airplanes being bombed out of the air(or hijacked).
It is a hard thing to know how to react to. This has been a thorn in the flesh of civilization for centuries.

The question is, how does it affect our farm operations and marketing deciisons? For me, right now, none at all.

Have to agree Jim,
It has been a constant issue for decades. And I don't see how being in commodities is not as good a place to be as any.

Sure Mizzou, concerned. But not going to change my marketing for it. When we maintain an embassy through a revolution, or in unstable countries we are taking risks.
The lady in the grocery store looking for organic potato chips concerns me also.
I am just doing my best not to bid on any farm land right now--------that would probably drop the grain markets much quicker. ![]()

Its not what happened that concerns me near as much as why it happened..........our foriegn policy is exposing us.......
I do agree on the land thing........IMO the bottom isn't going to drop out, we could see some decent retracement if you are patient and smart.......
