Hi everyone. (Moderators if this is in the wrong forum section please feel free to move/delete.)
I am a Student at the University of Notre Dame working on a technology with a professor related to soil moisture sensing. We are hoping that this technology could be used to remotely monitor average soil moisture values for large areas of land from a ground based station.
I have several questions for you all regarding soil moisture sensing/agriculture as a whole.
If you are in agriculture do you currently use anything to monitor soil moisture levels and if so what technology are you using?
Are there any "pains" associated with this technology?
How useful would a wireless soil moisture sensing technology be to you guys (cost savings on water or increased crop yields.)
