It is probably a mixed religious metaphor to say this, but when it comes to Christmas decorating, I prefer a more Zen approach: less is more. I did more and mixed up more colored lights and such when the kids were little...let them choose quite a lot what we used and where it went. What little I do now is miniature white lights and other than the tree, which has to be artificial for fire safety reasons, I want real greens and holly.

Mike has been cleaning small trees away from fence line, and sees what I looking for throughout the day.  He has promised to take me out with my trusty pruning shears...maybe tomorrow.  It is pouring a much- needed rain today.
