After the winter two years ago, I scoffed at the notion of global warming. So far this fall, we had a coolish November, and the temps are "normal" fifty-ish daytime and 20-30ish at nighttime right now. By Saturday, the high will be in the seventies, and stay that way at least a couple of days. Sixties until then.
i remember having a warm spell like this in late February a few years in my lifetime...the kids would shuck off their jackets and play outdoors like it was already spring. Since March starts our " meteorological spring", that was usually just pushing the season by a week to ten days. This January warmth is not st all common, though. I would say it is freakish.
Old folks will say that too warm a winter lets too many germs and vermin survive, and the following year is fraught with illness, mosquito bites, ticks, and I would say mice and other pests, too. If that's the case, we are in a world of hurt, if things don't return to normal soon.
Are things unseasonably balmy where you live, too? Do you notice more problems with bugs and people being sicker than a usual wonter? We are seeing emergency measures ordering all visitors barred from some hospitals, othrs limiting visits by children under 18, due to flu outbreaks.
