I know some of you have done traveling (someday, I hope) and my mom is going to San Diego in Jan.  She is fussing to no end about her clothes and what she will wear on the plane, etc.  She actually is going to her cousins in AZ. for couple days first. 

Anyway, can anyone give me tips to help her make the transition from IL. to the warm weather?  Coats, etc.  Pretty well know about the warm temps out there but would appreciate travel advice.
