Re: 10,000 year record

People didn't increase CO2 levels then just like they aren't now.

Re: 10,000 year record

Yes there was lots of life 3 million years ago.

Evidence of life has been shown from 3-4 Billion years ago.

Do not take my dates a s specific as I would have to look up to confirm but I should be close.

Recent ice age ended 30,000 years ago approximately and sea levels started rising after that

i think they were 3 or 400 meters lower during the ice age so the rise since 10,000 years ago is likely quite noticeable

I also think there has been a period of quite stable levels recently but they are rising again now and have been rising quicker in the most recent years.

Re: 10,000 year record

That is counter to what most scientists claim 3020.

If people are not causing it then what is?

Volcanoes have in the past but no large volcanic activity now.

Or do you just believe that?

Re: 10,000 year record

You just believe CO2 is warming the earth. In the past CO2 levels were much higher and the earth much cooler. Man was not on the scene.

Re: 10,000 year record

The elevations in past CO2 levels also invalidate Carbon dating in distant past as there was also increased Carbon -14.

Does anything we do now make any difference?  let's see some real scientists talk about this, not just people who want to tell us what to do.

Re: 10,000 year record

Probably caused by Canadian tar sands utilization.   And those endless clear cuts across the North, why do you guys hate the environment so much?  Something to think about on your next flight to Bermuda.

Suppose the arctic is warming, what do you suppose that tree line marching north will cause?  I'm thinking massive amounts of carbon sequestration.   Hope it don't cause a new ice age.

Re: 10,000 year record

Tree line moves north as the permafrost melts.

Melting permafrost releases methane which is a better greenhouse gas than CO2

Re: 10,000 year record

The methane released would diminish, the carbon sequestration would expand until the next ice age or until Canadians clear cut the forest, as they like to do.

Shouldn't conscientious Canadians move south where life does not require such a massive energy footprint?

Re: 10,000 year record

Most Canadians live in the south of the country now.

Or do you mean way down south where there is no health care for all and you have to run an air conditioner all the time?
