... weekly production rock-steady at about 5 million barrels per day and consumption rock-steady at just under 4 million barrels per day.  Stocks are drifting down as expected this time of year as people fill their heating oil tanks but are well within the seasonal range.

  Just because some station didn't get its diesel delivery this week doesn't mean there's a problem.

In 2015, rough ave of 34% of passenger cars in Europe were diesel-powered, by 2019 that had jumped to roughly 65%.  For years, American refineries produced gasoline volumes for the much larger US market & sold their excess diesel to Europe & Asia, however, given the boycott of Russian crude & the price of diesel in Europe now there is higher demand (& higher profits) for more of our diesel to go to Europe.

  You can blame Putin and the greedy oil companies for the price of diesel.
