Re: 2nd Revolution

So the fed had to take control of the land to protect a turtle that has been around for 200 billion years......That sounds about right.

What happens when you don't pay your rent?

Seems this Nevada rancher believes he owns this federal land. Hasn't paid grazing fees since 1993.

Now owes over $1,000,000. After years of legal wrangling, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) attained a federal court order to have Bundy’s nearly 1,000 head of cattle removed, according to the family.

Feds are now rounding up his cattle.

“The land issue allegedly began after Bundy stopped paying grazing fees in 1993. He said he didn't have to because his Mormon ancestors worked the land since the 1880s, giving him rights to the land.”

“This is how the government acquires land. They bought it from Mexico for $15mil in the Treaty of Guadalupe. And Nevada, IN THEIR STATE CONSTITUTION, grants control of public land to federal government. This isn't a case of government making up phony claims or loophole arguments to take land.”

Ruled in United States v. Bundy, Case No. CV-S-98-531-JBR (RJJ) (D. Nev. Nov. 4, 1998), “the public lands in Nevada are the property of the United States because the United States has held title to those public lands since 1848, when Mexico ceded the land to the United States.”

Now armed pretend militia's and govt haters and various fruitcakes are gathering to support him.

Re: 2nd Revolution

Did the state purchase the land from the feds? The land-public land-belongs to the federal govt. Most of it was purchased MANY years ago to establish National Forests to preserve the land for future generations. Same were given to the Federal Govt as the result of a war. The BLM and the Forestry Service and the National Parks and Monument services were established to manage and oversee these lands. They are public lands and public means the citizens of the country and the govt therein own this land but just because it is public land does not mean you get to use it without paying a fee if whichever entity that manages it so decrees. Grazing is allowed if you own deeded property next to federal land as a qualifier and lease X number of acres to graze your animals for a certain fee per animal unit. This guy is way off base and will lose in the long run and if he doesn't get those crackpot "patriots out of there, he might just be shot or at the very least see the inside of a prison!

Re: 2nd Revolution

In the last 20 years,15 species have become extinct and 12 more only survive in captivity. Does that mean anything to you? Do you care at all. I wonder also how you can say that the tortoise has been around for 200 million years when you believe the earth is only about 6000 years old????

Are you saying turtles were not here with the dinosaurs? Dinosaurs died out but turtles are still here. Did the ranchers kill out the dinosaurs with their cattle?
