Re: 30, husker, wehav
The humor here is over 10 years. I guess those estimates and projections made in the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's,90's, and all through this decade have always been on the money, err actually they always project the money into the future. That's why we keep getting deeper and deeper in debt. How's that balanced budge of Obama's doing?
Any 10 year projection is a joke when it comes to government and global warming.

Re: Like the unfunded mandate
For the US dept of defense. They never project the spending out for 50 year because it would total up to 100 trillion with a T.
Like me projecting that a farm I purchase will cost me 3000 per acre in real estate taxes over the next 100 years. MY Gawd that is three times what i paid for some of that land! The problem is you need to include the revenue stream that will come in over the next hundred years as well.
Well numbers lie once in a while and teabaggers lie all the time.

Re: 30, husker, wehav
I did not know that I got my talking points from my dental fillings, LOL.
For the record, I don't get any signals on 'how to respond' from anyone. I simply got frustrated with Obamacare, when promise after promise about it was broken, and I REALLY got frustrated, when the President, instead of manning up, and saying he may have mis-stated something, instead said 'I never said that', even though he was videotaped several times, on several occasions, saying exactly what he claims he never said. Once it reached that point, it is going to take a LOT of evidence to convince me that Obamacare is going to live up to its promises. Anyway, onward:
I will admit, it has things looking better than I thought they would.
One question, though: By my best guess at looking at the chart, it appears as though the 10 year cost is projected to be around $1.5 trillion.
Were we, or were we not promised (by Obama) that the 10 year cost was going to be LESS than $1 trillion over 10 years?
I guess one way you could look at it, is that the promise was broken by less than many claimed it would be, but I don't think it still falls into the 'promises kept' category.
That said, a lower cost estimate, is better than a higher cost estimate. I was willing to bet, that if it remained law over 10 years, that it was going to cost $2T or more (double the promised maximum price tag). Only time will tell if I was right. Belive me, I hope I was/am wrong.

let's poke some holes
It's a combination of rising medical costs, a healthier enrollment population in 2015 and the make-up of the Obamacare plans, which have than their counterparts in the large-group market, that contribute to the CBO's calculations on premiums.
If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor. Providers will have to charge more to those large group market plans, a hidden subsidy.
Other changes, such as a smaller under-65 population, also factored into the revisions.
What??
And really Bruce, TPM every post, would you take someone seriously that posted fox all the time?

Of course it is going to cost less. It has been delayed by a couple of years.

Re: 30, husker, wehav
Actually the ACA hasn't hurt these guys personally but they are looking so hard for reasons to condemn the legislation that they are liable to rupture themselves doing so. Socialism they hate and don't seem to notice when their own nose is in the trough.
Just those unemployed that have harvested a few thousand from the government while most of these guys have harvest hundreds of thousands from the government teet. Talk about hypocracy!
