The UK abolished the death penalty.
Now the majority of countries do not kill prisoners.
A few countries continue to kill people, such as China, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen and the US which are the countries that killed 10 or more in the past year.

Conservatives seem to want to protect the lives of the unborn innocent and remove, by executions, those hardened criminals that seem past the point of redemption.
Liberals seem to want to coddle and protect the lives of the hardened criminals, yet they see nothing wrong with killing innocent unborns via abortions.

Well said Red.
I am personally against the death penalty and always have been, but I understand the difference between killing a convicted murderer (e.g.) and killing an innocent unborn baby.
If I were in congress, I would propose a bill that ends both executions and abortions and see how many liberals would sign onto this compromise bill to see if they are really against ending killings in the United States.
