I have heard more people come out and say that they are predjidice in the last month, than I have ever personally heard the rest of my entire 60 years of life. It's like - now it's a badge of "honor" to openly say, "I hate".
I was at an orchard a few days ago, and a fellow stopped to talk, and the subject turned to the election. He told me all about how the last eight years, he had to bite his tongue. How angry he was that a black man had been elected President. How terrible it was.
Well, imagine being gay, you knew it your entire life, and you had to bite your tongue, because you were afraid to let anyone know. President Obama helped all those people to come out in the open, and I know that a lot of what President Sniffy ran on, is a backlash against anything not male and white.
Those that aren't in the pidgion hole of white and male have been released, and good luck at trying to bottle it back up, and shelve it away. The more you push back, the more resistance you will encounter. You can wish and hope all you want, but we're never going to go back to the 1950's.
