How are you going to take the guns from the women who kill their children mistaking them for an intruder while at the same time allow the women who will use their weapon to defend themselves and their children from some animal intruder that is intent on killing them?

I'm going to say this one and only one more time.  I'm not taking anyone's gun and neither is anyone else----unless you guys and the NRA continue to support the use of firearms to kill people in schools, theaters, etc and refuse to allow more detailed background checks!  If it continues, the American public will rise up and smite thy sorry a**** and take everyone's guns and then people like me will be verily PO'd at all you fools!!!!

Then why bring up the woman who accidentally killed her child because she mistook her for an intruder? No back ground check is going to change that. We already have back ground checks.

I didn't say that but you are correct that nothing would stop that and no one claims that it would.  But better background checks would stop people with mental problems from being able to get guns.   I don't know about all states but I do know about Illinois and Arizona.  I have purchased guns in both states.  The back ground check in both states takes a 1 minute phone call and giving the person on the other end a social security number and waiting for them to see if you have a record or a warrant out.  That's it!  Yes, that is a background check but not much of one.  I'm just telling you that you and the NRA are doing more to get rid of guns than anyone!!!

No,  she  purchased with belief it gave her protection.   But poor training, poor judgement and  fear.  she shot without using good gun judgement at whatevery or whoever.      She past all the requirements but one good respondible gun judgement
