Re: A little clarification on climate change

Don, don't waste your time being in the least bit moderate or conciliatory on the topic- it is a matter of deeply held tribal religion and you'll just get thrown on the burn pile with the rest of the heretics.
But I do fail to see what is remotely conservative in burning all the low cost fossil fuels and degrading the planet that we leave to our children and theirs.
I'm always puzzled by the logic of people who express great concern of fiscal matters (leaving our children in debt) but are hostile to any suggestion of natural resource stewardship. After all, the planet is finite and money isn't nearly so.
Use does not equal waste. Waste is millionaires and billionaires flying around the world in gas guzzling private jets telling the rest of us we need to conserve. We conservatives are already practicing good stewardship of the natural resources our Almighty God provided for us to use. We have a Lord and Savior, we don't need false gods like man made global warming climate change and disruption top bow to and worship.

So you 'believe' all the oil and other resources were just 'provided' for those who 'believe' to use as they wish.
'Believing' in what you like but refusing to accept facts about the weather.
That is the problem and where the problem will get much more complicated in the future.
I think we would all be better off if 'just believing' was thrown out and everyone used critical thinking and followed what the facts and evidence show to be true, leave the imagination and unsubstantiated beliefs out of it.

No Canuck, what I believe is use does not equal waste. The use is waste argument is a Saul Alinsky tactic used by the left to shame people into accepting their beliefs.

So use is not waste......... driving a tank down the road when a VW would get you there just as quickly is waste in my eyes.
Sitting at an open air patio to have a beer with heaters instead of sitting in an insulated building is waste in my eyes............ even though it is 'just use'.

So you consider yourself the Almighty who decides what is use and what is waste?

No 'Almighty'.
I do have an opinion and what I consider waste you obviously think is just your to burn with no though to the future of your children.
That seems to be what those who 'believe' the world will end in 'the end times' think that there is no future to worry about just your own wishes.

No Canuck, you can't read my mind and you do not know what I think. I believe that it is immoral to make a poor family just able to make ends meet pay an artificially high price for energy because someone considers them a waste. Many families have to choose between the rent or utilities when it does not have to be that way at all. The coal is in the ground and it should be used to make energy affordable for all not just a select few.
You are the one who believes the world is going to end because of something man has no control over. This is not about me and my belief in Almighty God. This is about affordable energy and the fact that use does not equal waste.

You were the one that used almighty with a capital!
Why does a good 'christian nation' not look out for these poor people who can not afford rent and utilities?
And I hope you noticed the story in the news this morning about the hundreds killed in a coal mine in Turkey.
Part of the cost of using those resources.
You are correct I do understand the world will end some time in the future billions of years from now when the sun runs out of fuel or another galaxy collides with ours unless a comet hits us sooner and it all ends that way and man has no control over those ends.
Using carbon based fuels indescriminatly contributing to the rising CO2 in the atmosphere will not end the world BUT will create many changes that your children and grandchildren will not like.
Yes I do think some things energy is 'used' for is waste and it is energy that is in finite supply that our descendants will wish they still had in the future to be used in more productive ways.
