For quite a few weeks now it looked like states north of Missouri & Kentucky might be spared the fate of states to the south.

  But not anymore, counties in Iowa are lighting up like fireworks on the Fourth of July. Southern Ill., Ind., & Ohio are on fire and pretty much fully aflame.

  I was hoping the republican counties in upstate NY might manage to avoid Florida, Missouri, &  Louisiana's fate but not anymore.  You have to have more than just 50% vaccinated to reduce the spread pressure.  It has to be more like 70, 80, 90 % if there's any chance at all.  I thought what happened in Florida would scare enough of these republican-leaning vaccine refusers to get vaccinated but I was wrong.  They'll just have to learn the hard way, I guess.
