About the same number as coal miners?
Maybe 50,000, the number of direct recipients of a farm bailout, or at least the lion's share.
Sympathy for those poor coal miners was certainly leveraged far beyond their numbers and perhaps it will be so for another group of Special Americans.
Or perhaps the overwhelming non-farm majority in even the most rural districts was paying attention to their farming neighbors' government windfall over the past dozen years and isn't so terribly sympathetic?
I honestly don't know. Probably not the basis on which any of the elections will be decided as we return to other resentments among The Folk.

ND, MO, IN.
the key to whether the GOP will still have 50 Senate seats (plus VP) to keep slamming through judges and generally deadlock any really meaningful action by a D majority House.
