According to govenor Cuomo

We can't have a quarantine of New Jersey and New York, where 1/2 of the cases are, because it would cause economic chaos. I though dems were all about flattening the curve. Now it looks like the governor is more about saving the economy of HIS state.

Re: According to govenor Cuomo

Good point 3020.  I really don`t want to get political about states that are actually having a Rona crisis at this time.  However, this pandemic is spun to blame President Trump about "shortage of ventilators in Queens" or whatever...these are Democrat ran states from when they laid the rail, I mean don`t these political dynasties have the bulk of responsibility for not have "built the church big enough for Easter Sunday every Sunday"?

My Wife does supply ordering for a hospital, everything is "just in time inventory" even suppliers that are supposed to be the source is backordered on certain items without a pandemic emergency.  If you ordered 100 ventilators for a hospital last July, they`d fire you for "wasting hospital money". ...."where are we going to store all this crap!!!"

Idiots are spinning this that "Trump didn`t order 330 million ventilators last December, so this is all his fault!!!" .   I`ll have to check the Constitution but I doubt ordering hospital supplies is in the POTUS job description.

WWJBD?

the party that has their leader hunkered down in a basement, not knowing whether the cure or the prevention is worse, or even what state or town he is in, probably is not a good source to vent any criticism.

Re: According to govenor Cuomo

And then you add that to this.

They were ready to roll whenever disaster struck California: three 200-bed mobile hospitals that could be deployed to the scene of a crisis on flatbed trucks and provide advanced medical care to the injured and sick within 72 hours.

Each hospital would be the size of a football field, with a surgery ward, intensive care unit and X-ray equipment. Medical response teams would also have access to a massive stockpile of emergency supplies: 50 million N95 respirators, 2,400 portable ventilators and kits to set up 21,000 additional patient beds wherever they were needed.

In 2006, citing the threat of avian flu, then-Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger announced the state would invest hundreds of millions of dollars in a powerful set of medical weapons to deploy in the case of large-scale emergencies and natural disasters such as earthquakes, fires and pandemics.

“In light of the pandemic flu risk, it is absolutely a critical investment,” he told a news conference. “I’m not willing to gamble with the people’s safety.”

The state, flush with tax revenue, soon sank more than $200 million into the mobile hospital program and a related Health Surge Capacity Initiative to stockpile medicines and medical gear for use in outbreaks of infectious disease, according to former emergency management officials and state budget records.

But the ambitious effort, which would have been vital as the state confronts the new coronavirus today, hit a wall: a brutal recession, a free fall in state revenues — and in 2011, the administration of a fiscally minded Democratic governor, Jerry Brown, who came into office facing a $26-billion deficit.

And so, that year, the state cut off the money to store and maintain the stockpile of supplies and the mobile hospitals. The hospitals were defunded before they’d ever been used

Re: According to govenor Cuomo

so a republican gov in CA initiated disaster response, and a democrat killed it.

Goes back to what I said about worrying about your kids and their futures....guess that we know who cares and who doesn't.

Re: According to govenor Cuomo

And now Cuomo wants as many as possible out of new york to spread this thing around the country so he doesn't look so bad.
