Do you deny that it was a general sentiment among conservatives that there was a wish that Obama would fail? What did conservatives do to reach out and compromise or work together and bend? How is it that Obama didn't face some of the greatest challenges of any US President? Just asking since you seem so sure.

Did they want Obama's new policies to fail...like Obamacare, spending our way out of a recession, trying to raise taxes?   Yeah...I'd guess most on the right would want those to fail.  They are unsound and truly unaffordable.  Also, his policies failing = limiting Obama to one term.

Did they want the country to fail and to not have a growing and vibrant economy?  Absolutely not!  And thats the Horsesh_it part of your post.  They disagreed with his plan for turning things around and ESP for his reckless spending of money we don't have.  Have you noticed the federal DEBT level lately?  We just crossed $16 TRILLION.  Its sickeningly funny how much you guys cried about it when Bush ran up $5 TRILLION in EIGHT YEARS...Obama's on track to do $12 TRILLION in 8 years and nary a word from you.

$12 TRILLION.  Think about it...

Didn't watch but just read a synopsis of tonite's speeches and it seems that Mrs. BHO summed the situation up quite well in one sentence in her presentation. A striking metaphore for "Don't let the door hit you in the a@@".

The presidency does not change who you are. It does expose who you are!

Terrific speach amongst others. A rip roaring good start to the dnc convention. Tomorrow night we hear Clinton and Biden.

Absolutely good grief!  How could any group of people, much less a group elected by the American public to lead and make laws to better the country, deliberately do everything possible to ensure one man failed in trying to do his job and wreck the country?????  They should be run out of town with tar and feathers on them.  And then to brag about their "mission" is beyond belief!

I for one am glad that they did. Look what he has done with the EPA the IRS the BATFE. He told people that we punish our enemies. Talking to the hispanics about rebulicans. If he would have gotten cap and trade passed, well this election would not have been about the economy thats for sure. He has failed himself...when was the last time he talked with his jobs council? Yeah he is laser focused on jobs.

Re: Almost four years ago

Knapper, don`t blame Obama`s lack of leadership and subsequent failed presidency on the Republicans.  Let`s be very honest here, you liberals thought that being out of the White House for 8 years under Bush there was some "makin` up to do on the progressive agenda" and Obama was radical enough to make up for lost time and best of all he was black so any criticism the "race card" could be played.  Obama having only been a community organizer and a junior senator with a thin resume`, had no executive experience.  A successful leader in the business world knows that he or she has to get along with labor, the board and all the departments and the stockholders...he`s the leader of the entire company and can not throw all the goodies to one segment and ignore the others.  Reagan understood this, Bill Clinton understood this...Barack Obama still doesn`t have a clue.   In 1994 Clinton got shellacked in the mid-term election, he knew that to survive politically he needed to change course and work with the Republicans, but his first 2 years he was a cocky fcuker just like Obama.  If Obama was pollitically savy he would`ve sold Obamacare better to the public, but that`s just it, it was a dud from the begining.  When the Obamacare bill reached his desk a great leader would have done something unprecidented and vetoed his own bill, for lack of bipartison sponsorship that would`ve shown a more apathetic leader that was deserving of a second term.  Every day of Obama`s 3 1/2 years has been bending over backwards to purposely piss off the Republicans, like it or not Republicans and conservative Democrats and Independents still are the slight majority in this country and can not been continually poked in the eye.

Re: Almost four years ago

Two quick points

First, the ONLY person I know of that said that about Obama, is that they hope he fails, would be Rush, and he has no vote of any kind in Congress, he is an entertainer, who goes over the top, to bring attention to himself, under the theory of no publicity is bad publicity in the entertainment industry.

Second, those Republicans must sure be effective at blocking everything Obama wants.  For one thing, they did it while minorities in both houses of Congress (yet somehow Obamacare got through, but let's not mention that), and when Obama submitted his budget proposal, it got absolutely zero votes.  The republicans are so good at blocking his proposals, they even got the Democrats to vote against it.  What did they do to Pelosi, Reid, Waters, Wasserman-Schultz, etc, to turn them agains Obama in such a way, or was Obama's actual proposal just that bad?
