America, just over broke.

The Agricultural Justice in another thread asked "WHY IS THAT????  LOL LOL LOL"  about when I said the lack of living wage jobs that lead to dependency on government and Low Information Voters.   Well, companies got the greenlight to move overseas...the Democrats and labor unions were complacent along with the countryclub, blue blood Republicans and now here we are today, a country full to the brim of Low Informations that are dependent on the government.

Well BA< you almost got there, but there is something in your makeup ( it's a choice ) that when you approach a fork in the road, instead of taking the new highway, you take the muddy dirt road, get stuck and then bitch because the new highway got all the $$$.

Re: America, just over broke.

This is ironic coming form someone that favors low wages and low taxes for businesses. They dn't pay taxes themselves or take them off shore and they wn't pay labor enought so that their employees pay taxes.

Do you favor a higher minimum wage? Do you approve of low taxs for business. Do you think they should be lower. Are you willing to raise you personal tax rate to make up for the free ride for business.

You could lower business tax rates to 5% and they would still try to avoid taxes. There are simply too **bleep** many people that admire tax avoidance. Like admiring a shop lifter because he got something for nothing. Shared responsibility should enter in here some where and if youare going tp make business responsible for aliving wage then you best be willing to pony up for the charity that will be required.

That's why a transactuon tax would be desirable. Everyone would pay taxes and nobody would get a tax exemption. Not busineesses not individuals. Any body that buys or sells anything gets bumped with a low percentage tax. If you have to pay more you have to charge people more for what you sell. That keeps the tax rate low. If bershire hathaway buys union Pacific they wll get taxed on the whole smear or they will negotiate a lower rate to compensate for it.

Rampant tax avoidance destroys the intent of taxes. Revenue accumulation. As much as republican swear by starving the beast, it has been a huge failure as a budget balancer. 30 Years of this crap is about long enough. Even the most ignorant among us must know it's not working.

Re: America, just over broke.

I don`t think that a higher minimum wage matters one way or another at this point...raise it if it makes you feel better.

As far as taxes, I`ve posted links to Forbes with proof that you can not get over 20% of GDP from revenue.  If you lower tax rates you can get more revenue up to a point.  This country has a spending problem...but we are also Keynesians, so if the spending is cut the economy will sputter...I guess we are going to see just how much of it`s tail that the snake can swallow.

The real answer is Tariffs, if a oil filter can be made in Mexico and sold in the US for $3, but a US company can only make the same filter and sell it for $5, then a greater than $2 Tariff should be slapped on that Mexican oil filter right as it comes over the border.

We have to protect our worker`s "living wage jobs" or guess what?  They will still live but if it costs $30,000 to live, but they only make $20,000...Uncle Sam has to come in and make up that $10,000 DIFFERENCE....that is why HALF of the country is beholden to the government for their daily bread.

A Tariff on foreign goods would only have minimal government involvement in collecting the tariff.  That way people would have to work for their daily bread and it would be a company that gives them a pay check and they would be proud, like they were in the 1970`s, not Low Information Voters that are dependent on the government.

Re: America, just over broke.

Not too any years ago the corps paid a very much larger percentage of the taxes here. We didn't have much of a deficit and certainly not much of a national debt. You can run that old garbage about having a low tax rate brings in more money up the flag pole but ain't no one going to salute it.

Re: America, just over broke.

Low Information Voters are pretty much anyone that voted for Obama.  If someone first researched and then voted for Obama, then they are a socialist and want to destroy this country.  I can forgive someone that`s just stupid, but forgiveness of evil in their heart will have to come from God.

Here`s some typical Obama voters...not evil, just damned dumb.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mm1KOBMg1Y8      That damned Zulu chanting song just makes me want to puke.

Here`s some Low Infos that have awakened to the fact that their Obama has "no clothes".

Re: America, just over broke.

Yes, but Schurrbart corps don`t actually pay those taxes, they pass them on in the cost of their products.   That can work like in the 1970`s, but you had inflation as a trade off.  You also had guys that worked in a meat packing plant or a steel mill, they had a high school diploma, a strong back and a weak mind...but had a job where their family bought a house, a Maytag and a Chevrolet..and sent their kids to university for the opportunity to improve themselves for a better life.

Now we don`t have those opportunities, not everyone is college material and in today`s environment they are stuck with 2 low paying jobs that aren`t something that they can live off.  See, in the 1970`s those people would`ve had living wage jobs and paid taxes.  Today the government has to subsidize their cost of living, instead of paying taxes they now are eligible for earned income credit.   I`m not blaming them, they are victims of the system of free trade.

Us farmers benefited from higher prices with free trade, but I say we`d be better off without that deal with the devil.  Because US citizens with living wage jobs can afford steak and pork chops and bacon and eggs.

Re: America, just over broke.

Such nonsense. If corps can pass on their tax responsibilities to consumers, tel me why they oppose those tax rates and why  would they  go off shore to avoid them> That logic simply does not make sense.

The truth is that business doesn't want civic responsibility. They want all of the advantges of our society without the responsibility. As we speak we have the dow at nearly historic levels and labor falling dramatically behind of the cost of living. Then we give business incentives to lower their tax bill and it still aint enough. Stockholders pqying a 15%  on capital gains while employees pay 15% in fica taxes alone plus the tax rate on their original income.

You are constantly crabbing about those that don't pay taxes because their earnings are low. Yet you get exactl;y the same personal exemptions that they do. Perhaps yopur first $19K or $20K isn't taxed either. Same way with estate taxes. You first $5Mil are not taxed nor is your wifes. But you would be critical of those that pay no inheritance taxes as if they are deadbeats.

New York is currently giving special incentives to new businesses. No state income tax or real estate tax for ten years. Why wouldn't you give tax breaks to those businesses that have existed in your community for 40 or 50 years rather than to the new guy on the bloke. Democrat Cuaoma has been around the monied interest so long he is thinking like a republican.
