You may find this panel discussion of interest.

They are discussing the changes in voters desires and why.

Comparing the US situation to Canada.

Re: An authentic conservative view

The more I think about Nooner's piece the less I like it.

Seems more than anything a sort of salve by the GOP establishment to sugarcoat the Trump phenomenon, how it is about the resentment against the elite, economic inequality, yada yada.

As compared to caling it what it is, more than anything- a white supremacist candidacy ala' Wallace or Thurmond albeit in a Brooks Bros. suit.

El Donaldo sensed, with his lupine cunning, that he'd gained more public esteem by publicly calling out the Kenyan Muslim Socialist usurper than he had for any of his other publicity stunts, by far.

He saw his opportunity and he ran with it.

All that, but the "left behind" thing remains a big piece.  She's not calling for any antidotes.  Just sayin' what happened that made the message ring.

No, and that's kind of my point, she certainly isn't offering any solutions.

Because in my view her tribe doesn't have any.

And in Canada a class revolt got Toronto Rob Ford.

Re: An authentic conservative view

Likewise for the fair State of Minnesota with Jess Ventura.

Who, unlike Rob, was far from a catastrophe but it has to be judged as less than a successful experiment.

As I recall that came about as both parties nominated uninspiring scions of the political establishment.

Re: An authentic conservative view

In today's world, "authentic conservative" is an oxymoron heavy on the "moron"!
