Re: An oldie but goody
It is, BTW, quite a lot easier to just tabulate votes instead of engaging in a hybrid ranked choice experiment.
Anyway, RIP Iowa Caucuses, can't say I'm sorry to see you go.
BTW,merely speculation but as far as those possible Romney precincts that went missing, folks like Santorum's right to life zealot base don't consider cheating cheating.

Re: An oldie but goody
More detail from the Fake News DM Register at the time.
Actually more concerning that the results clearly couldn't be authenticated one way or the other.
Other than wasting the time of a lot of political reporters doing the horse race I assume that the D's can here, after the paper backup is checked.

Re: An oldie but goody
I don't recall the 2012 GOP Iowa cockup being a big deal other than a bit of what the heck? and then move on.
But arguably bigger, since credible results weren't produced- we'll see what happens here. I strongly suggest a third party audit- other than the horse race commentary there's plenty of time until the convention. If the results need to be throen out then that's what should happen.
I think the reason it has gone forgotten is because the IA GOP caucus is a whole nuther animal- they have a history of going for oddball candidates who win or show well such as Santorum, Cruz, Huckabee, Bachman.
Nobody really thought Santorum had a chance anyway.
