Re: Anonymous needs to get set up in NH

the whole conservatives wanting voter ID and then the conservative getting caught is chalked up to the land of unintended consequences.

See, they just knew that they were going to find all this rampant voter fraud, and it would be perpetrated by people of color, and illegal aliens and dead people................. surprise ! Unintended consequence.

Also, do not insinuate, or put words in my mouth......... I did not say " the only voter fraud that I have seen is done by evil white conservatives".  I said there were 20ish cases, 13 of those were by one family( dad, son, son of girlfriend).  How do we know he was a conservative / Repub ??  He was donating money to them. The other seven cases, who knows what persuasion they were, probably Dems, based on the polling locations.

You ever worked at a polling location ?  You should volunteer, then you could see the steps and procedures and policies first hand, and have some actual knowledge of how it works, you would then see that even without ID, the chance for fraud is nill.

Re: Anonymous needs to get set up in NH

Yes, I have taken shifts as a "poll sitter" for the Republicans and there is also a Democrat counterpart.  Around here everybody knows everybody, there is zero fraud.  What I think the deal can be is in big cities, where everyone is obviously "of like mind", a blind eye could be thrown to someone "voting for mom because she`s home sick".  wink wink.

This "absentee ballot" crap is where alot of fraud can happen, relatives filling out the ballot for a elderly person in a nursing home or hospital...I think that`s what really needs cracked down on.  But in 2012 there were precincts in Ohio where not one single vote was cast for Mitt Romney...oh I know what liberals will say, but com`on not one single vote for Mitt Romney in the whole district???  Around here there are a few dummies that voted for Obama, we elect Democrats to county offices, but I have never heard of entire precincts going for one candidate and being legitimate.

It boils down to, do you want the integrity of the ballot box or not?  If I`m at the bank and it`s a new teller and she asks for my ID and "mothers maiden name" I am happy to do it, that tells me that she is on the ball and I don`t want people committing fraud in the bank or the ballot box.  Just how hard is it to show ID?  Anyone that doesn`t have ID in this day and age sure does not have any business in a voting ballot box and anyone opposed to that sounds fishy.

Re: Anonymous needs to get set up in NH

Ha! These guys don't do any of that sort of thing...election boards, school boards, co., township. Soil and water district  commissioners and supervisors etc..

A) It would validate the very thing that they deplore and say we can do without...

and

B) In light of the positions and opinions that they hold dear and the fact that their fellow community members are at least vaguely aware of them they know damned good and well how they'd poll if they did stand for an election.

So they grumble and deride those who actually do enter the arena.

Actually, a rather serious problem in our current rural culture is the fact that in BA's oft referred to and longed for "good old days" successful farmers were the backbone of those institutions.

"Poll sitter" isn't remotely close to being an election official.

Re: Anonymous needs to get set up in NH

It sure the heck is, you see the people coming in and if there`s any funny business going on.  As a poll sitter we direct them to their party or Independent and they I think show ID possibly sign, it sometimes changes election to election as a lowly poll sitter I don`t recall, but I know funny business when I see it.  it`s 3 or more there representing each part side by side...no funny business, they get one ballot and come out put it in a plactic box deal and then the offical dumps it in the machine deal...zero funny business and I know everybody that comes through the door of the town hall.

Re: Anonymous needs to get set up in NH

Hah !!

your first paragraph is right on cue to what I new you would come back with.

them darn city people, not us lily white pure country folks. Get a clue, some examples of great and wonderful pure lily white country folks ; a lily white pillar of the community stiffed me for 35 grrrrr,  the pious front pew every Sunday married lady with kids was caught doinking the pastor , then left the husband and kids and ran off with the pastor, a local bto has not one but two boys that are the biggest meth heads and dealers in the area and papa makes sure they stay out of jail,  another bto has a son that is the biggest drunkard you will ever see and still lives in the same house as mommy and daddy at 50 years old, the only way he will work is if daddy keeps him ass deep in new tractors and he has a steering wheel in his hands.   Or, how about all those farmers of the 80's that you despise, that got to big for their britches and stiffed, and helped put all those local businesses down for the count.

Point being, people are the same no matter where you go.

Poll sitter wasn't exactly where I was going,  no, sign your name where it says you will uphold the voting regs, rules and laws and if you do not, or you commit fraud the penalties are jail time and a $10,000 fine.

We have poll sitters here Bruce. Two from both the dems and the repubs. I don't remember any from any other party buy there might be. I know most of them. If one goes to the restroom some one has to fill in. We also have a guy that looks at our ID. Your picture has to match your name. That way a guy named 3020 can't go in a vote for a guy called Bruce.

You need to be reindoctrinated by craigo on absentee balloting.  He is 200% in favor of absentee balloting and doing it early and often if you can get away with it!!!

Re: Anonymous needs to get set up in NH

I can see if someone is in the military or going to be on vacation or going to have a opperation...then fine they should get a absentee ballot.  But I see people abusing the privilage (I shouldn`t say abusing the privilage because it`s encouraged) of absentee voting.  My own Wife gets one, she could easily get to the town hall where we vote after work and it`s a 50/50 chance that she wouldn`t have to work Tuesdays anyway.

The way I see it I want to vote election day, that way I have until the last hour to change my mind if the candidate says or does something really stupid.  A few years ago a guy running for governor said that he was for "local control" of big hog outfits ...but the last day or two of the campaign someone came with a bag of money and changed his mind...I was so angry that I voted for the Democrat.  It didn`t do any good, the Democrat screwed us pig farmers anyway and now he`s the Secretary of Agriculture.

Re: Anonymous needs to get set up in NH

I don`t care how you want to spin it RG, we`ll say you want voter ID to keep the evil white Republicans from voting twice if that floats your boat.  🙂   I don`t want anyone undermining election rules and to have a ID before you vote and all but eliminate absentee ballots would do it.

The absentee ballot isn`t under the supervision of 2 or 3 different party members.  A person could receive a ballot in the mail and totally forget about it and some whacko family member would fill it out and send it back.

Probably in the scheme of things the fraud doesn`t effect the outcome of presidential elections, by local races it definately could where 20 votes is th margin.  The districts where Romney didn`t get one single vote...big whoop, in those slums, they`d go 97% Democrat on the up and up.
