Yes, vets are more apt to be vfolent. That is a tragic result of being exposed to a high risk enviroment in a war zone. It isn't just the killed and injured that are aproduct of these wars. It is the psychological damage that has been done to so many.

When did the govt single them out? Are you talking nonsense? Oh, yeah. You mean the homland security chief. Well, a dangerous segment of society are the combat vets. If they become terribly angered by something, they could revert back to the battleground and be a big danger to many people. Sounds like a prudent move to me.

I think there is a big difference. Very few police and even less average citizens have combat training or have been shot at like a combat vet. Soldiers are the ultimate patriots--even more so than you uber patriots--but many have problems as evidenced by the many seeking treatment for depression and other mental problems.
