It has carbide bits that point up, down, 45 degrees and straight out.  I have cut over 15,000 trees/brush over 20 years and the carbide bits look like new. It cuts through dirt, woven wire, rocks,.... nothing bothers it.  Shaves it flat to the ground.  Very fast.  I will post some pictures in a few days of a honey locust tree I cut down and a fence line I cleared
