As Delta marches inexorably across the South and now rural America, seeking out and burning through the unvaccinated the result is inevitable. Delta will find and test every unvaccinated person. Now after about three weeks, daily new cases have plateaued at about 155,000 per day. And even though in places like Florida and Mississippi new cases have leveled off and started to decline daily deaths are still rising due to the inevitable lag (currently averaging 1888 deaths per day) so we can guess that we might see close to 2000 deaths per day until Delta burns through the vulnerable for a mortality rate of about 1.3%. It's really not that different from the 1.8% last winter.
It's as inevitable as death & taxes. Oh, wait, it is death.
