Re: At last...verifiable victim of Obamacare

The politics forum on reddit is completely infested with the progressive Borg, all who go apecrap if there is any suggestion of anything wrong with obamacare (you'd be at home).  So on one thread a guy said his rate with obamacare went up like $80 a month.  People called him a liar and demanded proof, because you know there is never been any verified proof of anyone's rate going on because of ocare, and these people know that because it said so on TPM.  Anyhow the guy posted copies of his bills, and cancelation notices and was of course down voted into oblivion.  Funny thing, another guy posted how Obama care had saved his family $1400 a month, yes $1400, no one asked for proof.  You hive minds kill me.

"bruce" would be very much at home in a soviet type entity, as long as they provided free abortions, kept the lid on Christians in govt, and legalized pot. Oh yeah, and let Adam marry Steve.

Bruce, I started to write that you would get all sorts of obnoxious, angry insults over posting this and decided to read the posts following yours before doing so.  Enough said!!

Re: At last...verifiable victim of Obamacare

I'm glad that Obamacare is doing some good somewhere.  It would be a shame to spend all that money, and not have some positive results.   Now, they need to work on those who 'enrolled' but didn't get their premium to an insurance company, because technically, they aren't covered until they recieve their first month's payment.

Re: At last...verifiable victim of Obamacare

So are you saying that I am not insiured until the company gets my first premium payment?  Why would you even doubt that these folks will not pay the premiums? Do you suspect a lot of people buy insurance and then fail to pay premiums? Is that all policiesor just Obama care policies?

I wish you would trya little bit harder to find something wrong with obama care. You are not giving it your full attention.

That is the way the exchanges are set up, you are insured when payment is recieved, but not before.

the Administration refuses to release the actual number of paid and valid ObamaCare insurance policies.  Policies are not valid if the initial premium is not paid.  The Obama Administration deals only in the vague abstract of “enrollments,” a measure that has included everything from incomplete online shopping-cart data to unpaid policies that shouldn’t count at all.

Why would you even doubt that these folks will not pay the premiums?

Because they didn't get their bill, often because it got lost or delayed in the exchange website.

According to data released by the House Energy and Commerce Committee, only 67 percent of those with healthcare plans obtained through the national marketplace — or about 2.45 million Americans — had completed the sign-up process and had paid their premium by the end of the first enrollment period.

I doubt it, but how many people do you think pay bills, they haven't recieved?

Is that all policiesor just Obama care policies?

That, I do not know for sure.

I actually said something good about Obamacare, and gave a suggestion on how to improve it farther.   Why can't you accept that?

A large number of people who've signed up for private health insurers through the Cover Oregon health insurance exchange have not paid their first month's premiums, meaning they are at risk of going without coverage through November.

"I've already had clients not pay and lose their coverage," says Lisa Lettenmaier, who owns the health insurance brokerage Health Source NW in Tigard. "It's imperative for people to pay their premiums on time."

This year, for the first time, most people who don't have health coverage risk a federal tax penalty that runs as much as 1 percent of household income.

If consumers selected a private plan but didn't pay their first month's premium, their enrollment won't go into effect -- meaning they may be out of luck until the next open enrollment in November.

That applies not only to Cover Oregon policies, but policies purchased directly from carriers as well. But Cover Oregon offers a microcosm of the market in general, brokers and agents say.

More than 81,000 people went through through Cover Oregon – either through paper or electronic applications—to select a private health plan. Of those, 5,000 have already cancelled policies or been terminated for lack of payment. Thousands more have not yet paid their first-month's premiums, meaning their have not completed their enrollment, according to carriers.
