Re: Autism Awareness.

I went to school in the 40s and 50s and EVERY kid who went to school was vaccinated so I'm not sure what you mean by more kids are vaccinated now. I would say many times fewer with all the anti folks out there now.

Re: Autism Awareness.

Well, if your safe ( LOL ) sprays can nearly eliminate the majority of our native pollinators, they certainly can effect neurological, reproductive health and genetics in people.

Just because a bunch of a well paid lobbyist ensured its approval, does not mean you have the moral right to douse our land with it.

Let your conscience be your guide.

Re: Autism Awareness.

Okay, this is kind of hilarious from where I`m sitting anyway.  i`m not bound by the left/right paradigm on issues, I honestly do make up my own mind and that doesn`t always jive with conservatism.  I see firsthand in my own community the rise in Autism and dementia, Parkinsons and Alzheimers in the older folks.  To me this rise in incidents is just a pure fact.

The part that I find hilarious in an otherwise serious matter is conservatives are doubtful.."No it is not something that we are doing, but rather it`s a big scam for money!"  ...okay, that is predictable and i fall into that camp on many issues myself.

You liberals should totally be bobbing your heads in agreement with my top post...and you would if I were a known liberal.  But only because I am most times conservative, simply by me taking this "liberal side" you liberals Agjudge, Bruce, RJG and Schurrbart just can not bring yourselves to agree with me.   You guys in effect have joined the conservatives that believe that I am full of shinola on my observations of Autism  ...basically my shall we say mainstream view of Autism has essentially caused you liberals to agree with the Rightos on here, you might say this post has brought the left over to the side of the rightwing  Smiley Very Happy

But AgJudge, you are full of crap, you have no idea about spraying in all neighborhoods that I farm there are honey bee hives living right next to my fields.  This summer I saw a huge number of Monarch Butterflies, thousands and thousands of them, I snapped a picture that I was going to post earlier this summer, but it didn`t turn out suitable for posting.

If you`re half as smart as you come across on progressive science and skeptisim on the big business/governmental agency relationships.  It has to at least bother you that young children are supposed to be pumped full of 36 vaccines at a young age...highest by far in the rest of the "progressive world".    What, do you own stock in Merk, and Smith-Kline Glaxo?

Jeepers.  You brought in a lot of issues in that post, but I commend you for not mentioning abortion, cakes or 1982. 🙂

So, if you recognizance that form of willful ignorance and continue to participate, I can only imagine your motives for doing so.

Oh I actually agree with many or some things you say, it is  your

( I believe intentional ) lack of understanding of the WHY part that pricks me off.

I don't know why EVERYTHING MUST be political. Climate change is a good example

There are species that mimic the Monarch and I am unsure of your aptitude to identify properly. The bee story is suspect, and if they are commercial hives, they could have just been repopped. Also, they would never be placed near a Sto, performing Bto toxic practices.

More known diseases = more innoculations. Most are elective.

It is up to the parents and NOT health care to schedule the required vaccines and not be lazy and just say :  OH do them all at once doc, because my republican health care co-pay won't cover more visits.

Re: Autism Awareness.

If you broaden the parameters of a disease you increase the number of people affected.  That is an underlying cause of the increase.

Second, drug use is rampant today.  At one time Glamor Magazine did a poll asking do you use drugs recreationally?   65% answered yes,

Or how about the multiple sex partners that has become common along with the attending increase in venereal disease?  And two other factors, older women and older men having children.  It's known that older people have somewhat deteriorated sperm and eggs.

What are the effects of all the nuclear testing that went on above ground for years?  Is that catching up with humanity?

What is the rate of autism in other modern countries?

Re: Autism Awareness.

Don't necessarily disagree with much of that but am genuinely curious  as to where you got your info on "deteriorating sperm and eggs". I know too many exceptional people who were born to parents over 40 to buy that without some data. Not sayin'....just wondering.

Re: Autism Awareness.

I`ve heard that older fathers have a higher rate of babies with Downs Syndrome.

Re: Autism Awareness.

There`s alot of changes in our environment since 1975, more sedentary lifestyle, more obesity.   not to be a tinfoil hat guy, but think of all the radio waves, cell tower waves the atmosphere is loaded and humming..there was a study linking brain cancer to cell phone use.  Fast foods and the junk they serve has exploded since `75, towns that maybe had 1 McDonalds, today might have 2 and 2 Burger Kings and KFC and Hardees, just loaded with junk food.  Plus the cumulative effect of grandmothers, mothers and baby being exposed to modern life and maybe the first generations weren`t affected but down the line it hits.

It`s hard to find Autism rates by country but worldwide it`s 1% and this country is higher at 1:68

Re: Autism Awareness.

As I understand it, some of this has to do with the changing definition of autism since a German scientist named Hans Asperger first defined this affliction. The US definition at the time was much more narrow than Asperger's.  The official medical definition was changed and expanded in the US, likely around or before the time you mentioned to incliude many more people and group conditions.

It is like going from the definition of "shell shocked" soldiers in WWI and WWII to what we call Post Traumatic Shock Disorder today. Even though many more soldiers were probably suffering from PTSD back then, thanks to changing the definition from Shell Shock to PTSD, we all the sudden seem to have many morre afflicted, despite the lower numbers of people involved in modern war. That's just an example to explain the rational of the above.
