Alan Hart is, or was, a mainstream guy, having been BBC's Middle East correspondent for many years. But apparently he'd seen enough and became a sharp critic of Israel which had the predictable result. He's relegated to posting at Veterans Today with the assorted kooks and cranks (although sometimes it is entertaining).

I'm a little less anguine as we head into what might be the most dangerous period in at least a few decades. Adelson pulled it off in classic GOP style- by working at the margin to the poor, ignorant and frightened, even though their economic circumstances continue to decline.

Netanyahu is the only chance for Israel`s survival, the only reason his election was in jeopardy was they bussed in Arabs to the polls...just like in this country with the push to get the "urban' population to vote.

As I read the "Veterans today" readers comments it greatly saddens me of the blantant hatred of Jewish people....no I`m not going to mince words by calling them something warm and fuzzy like "anti semites", they flat out hate Jewish people.  And they see that any thorn in Israel`s side is furthering the goal of a holocaust part II, even if it means siding with terrorists that would just as soon slit their throats as look at them.

Given the demographic time bomb that is ticking on their doorstep, they've chosen a path whereby the zionists will be destroyed unless they can engage the christianists in a genocidal war against the islamists.

I'm entirely willing to risk my immortal soul and take a pass on that.

I'm of german heritage. What are you danish? Norwegian?   I don't advocate for germany nor to i want my government to support germany nor do i want germany to interfere in ur political process. How about you and Denmark of Norway. Do you want our government to support your heartland? Do you want your scandihoovian friends to have political influence in our ngovernment?

Why is the zionist state any different. I don't want to support a jewish state any more than I want to support a lutheran state. I don't want Bibi netanyahu influencing our political process andy more than I want Angela Merkle influencing our political process.

In fact if Bibi wpould have argued in favor of the Obama position, I bet you would have been condemning him. That fact is you folks don't believe in dip[lomacy. You think the threat of military might trumps everything el;se. Well do you think we would have allowed Iran to interfere in our pursuit of the nuclear weapons? Why do you think we can demand their compliance with our agenda?

Because a progressive society can not co-exist with a moral society. The two are polar opposites. There is nothing moral about forcing one group of people to give money to another, the very foundation of a progressive society. For a progressive society to continue to expand it must drive all moral from the society.

OK. Let's suppose that once upon a time there was a bunch of Belgians who decided to adopt the Lakota Cult of the White Buffalo as their religion. And after a while they started thinking that meant that Iowa was their promised land.

So they started settling there and after a while the Iowegians became a bit alarmed by their numbers and conflict arose. So the Buffalo Cult folks armed up and ran the Iowegians onto tiny reservations.

After a while the Iowegians started getting a little resentful and the Lutheran Liberation Organization started getting ugly about it, and the Iowegian women started squirting out babies like watermelon seeds. So the Buffalo Cult imported as many new Buffalo Cult members to counteract that as they could, and even some honest to goodness Lakota, such as they could find them.

So then a couple generations on you have 10X Buffalo Cultists and 10X Iowegians. All stuffed onto a tiny bit of land.

So in a situation similar to this metaphor, Bibi is right, something has to give. I'm just not in favor of his Final Solution, because I'm not a member of the Buffalo Cult auxiliary.
