Re: Bloomberg going to do what the MSM wouldn't

To paraphrase John Wayne, once again..“You can get more with a kind word and $54 billion than you can with only a kind word.”

So who knows? Given the current Democratic field of interesting candidates, perhaps we will see millions of Bernie & Warren socialist demanding supporters all lining up this November to vote for Uber capitalist, Mike Bloomberg.

Stranger things in life have happened, I suppose.

Re: Bloomberg going to do what the MSM wouldn't

We are currently  experiencing living proof of that.

Serious question.....what becomes the basis for membership and support of the GOP after this “personality cult” interlude fades?

Re: Bloomberg going to do what the MSM wouldn't

As a political reporter noted about her time in Iowa, when Dems were asked who they favor, the most common answer by far was "the nominee."

That's a logical outcome of the WWE strategy- you're still a pro-rasslin' star if 45% love you and 55% hate you- in fact you sell more tickets and pay per view. Turnout.

I'm still a little undecided about the relative importance of Bernie Bros. vs. "those suburban moderates."

The importance of the Bernie Bro thing in '16 is wildly overstated. The "moderates" might be also.

By all rights, Bloomberg ought to capture some of the (??? no idea what percent) of The Base who aren't lit up about some or all of the social war grievances but just want to get about their business.

Not sure how true that is- that small number on both sides of "the center" are kinda squishy and tricky.

Re: Bloomberg going to do what the MSM wouldn't

Bloombergrunning lots of ads that don’t ask people to vote for Bloomberg. A rather unique concept.

As for up til now, a rather singular message:

And for certain what ‘nox says. The Chuck Todd, George Snufflupegass mainstream network media is so focused on political business as a team sport and  false equivalence that these ads are the only way to get a view to people who aren’t on-line or cable information consumers.

It's an enormous fallacy to assume that just because somebody got onto something big and rode it very well that they're geniuses.

But Bloomberg isn't stupid.

He also isn't corrupt, because unlike Dennison, he can absolutely afford not to be. Unless you think he lays in bed at night hurting because Jeff Bezos is worth twice as much.

He's fairly mum on the subject but you can assume that he has a more positive view of the role of finance in the economy than the rest of the field.

That being the area where Dennison and the very angry Tea Party portion of The Base have Really Showed 'Em.

But he will do nothing to protect American jobs. He's for high priced energy and open borders.
