Boehnors own words
There are folks in his party that don't want to pass the legislation of the possible. Instead they choose to waste time trying to pass the impossible.

Re: Boehnors own words
Just because something can`t be passed doesn`t mean that it shouldn`t be tried. such as the embarassment of Obama being forced to veto a repeal of Obamacare would be priceless.
And by the same token a gun control bill that could be passed in the high emotion of a school shooting aftermath would not be a good idea simply because that snapshot in time the votes would be there.

Re: Boehnors own words
55 times they passed the repeal of the ACA. If that isn't an exercise in futility, I don't know what is. How much time has been wasted and how many dollars in that solely political objective. You don't seem to be embarrassed by your parties ignorance.
An attack on Obama is never an exercise in futility. So what has your congress accomplished except a political campaign against Obama and an investigation of hillary. In other words you really don't want to do anything. You just want to obstruct the dems.

Re: Boehnors own words
If you can`t defeat evil, the next best thing is to obstruct evil and that is all the Republicans could do vote-wise. If the senate couldn`t override a Obama veto, the next best thing is embarass him and re-dust the Obamacare legislation to reestablish the Democrat fingerprints that are on that act.
Congresspeople were elected with the promise to repeal Obamacare. It seems to me that after the Republicans took the senate, there has to be a vote and bill on Obama`s desk that he will of course veto...but will fullfill congress`s promise to the voters, then they can move on after that is out of the way.

Boehner was the best of the 5 leaders, I give him a lot of credit for stepping aside. Now if Pelosi, Reid, McConnell & Obama would just resign.
