The precautionary principle-
if AGW is wrong, then we're going to leave some of those non-renewable resources for future generations.
A conservative viewpoint, I think.
Not much, though, as the cheapest and easiest stuff is already long gone.

Rawhide; it is easy to write a letter but when you are discussing science based findings you need to produce some science based findings that show the original info wrong.
If the published info about global warming can not be replicated they should be entering peer review commentw about the findings not bothering with letters.
If all the info they have can not refute the published papers and so they resort to letters then it just shows that the 90+% of climate scientists that agree with the climate predictions are correct.
