What took `em so long? Why, did the "Turkish nationals" who invented the vaccine discriminate against Canadians?

Re: A hell hole of suffering & death just ...
...just to spite Biden's goal of getting 70% vaccinated. In the past two weeks, in Florida alone, 67673 have become infected, at 2% mortality that'll 1350 who suffer a slow agonizing death by suffocation.
As you can see from the map now the virus is spreading west into Kansas, east into southern Illinois, Indiana, Tennesse & Kentucky, even north into Iowa.

Re: Ed, are you vaccinated?
You're running out of time if you aren't. You could be one of the lucky ones who prove the rule and suffer death by slow suffocation.

(Ed, are you vaccinated? You're running out of time if you aren't.)
By "running out of time" do you mean guaranteed death if a person does not get vaccinated? How much time are you saying a non-covid-vaccinated person has to live there Ricky-Bobby, err, Ricky-Fauci?

You're running out of time to get vaccinated and have it be effective. It may very well already be too late.

Re: A hell hole of suffering & death just ...
33,797,400 reported cases
2,317,457 reported hospital admissions
605,905 reported deaths
Thus far (based on CDC Covid reports, including all variants, AND bulk of these overall statistics predate the current level of vaccinations and natural immunity from having survived Covid):
Overall risk of infection -- over 10%
If infected, general risk of hospitalization -- 7%
If infected, general risk of death -- 1.8%
Of course, age, health, location, employment, travel and social factors impact your actual risk, as does whether or not you (and/or others near you) have been vaccinated and/or have natural immunity. CDC data includes only reported cases, so does not include unreported cases (minor infections and/or no symptoms, and thus were never tested). Therefore, so far, the actual risk of infection has likely been significantly higher than 10%, thus the actual risk of hospitalization and/or death has likely been significantly lower than the statistics would imply. Couple that last statement with the fact that a substantial percentage of the highest risk groups have been vaccinated at this point, and the hospitalization and death risk percentages moving forward should be substantially lower, generally speaking.
"Deaths remain near their lowest levels since spring 2020, and hospitalizations are a fraction of their winter peak." NYT

Re: They should be lower but ...
The mortality should be lower and it is to some extent but in Missouri for example, slightly less than 75% (73-74%) of the 65-85+ age groups are vaccinated. Believe it or not only 67% of the 85+ age group are vaccinated. In addition, less than 50% of the 35-64 age group are vaccinated. That leaves plenty of potential victims still available.
Like trump, the virus preys on the willfully ignorant, the proud, and the arrogant.
