Re: Canadian opinion piece on Tea Party and US politics

Try to understand that Neil MacDonald is a reporter in Washington to report back to those of us who live in Canada. What he is going to write about is the US and how that impacts Canada not about the ongoing 'problems' we might have in Canada.

I just thought some of you might be interested to see what someone else had to say about your politics since his article will likely influence at least a few Canadians thoughts of your country.

We have ignorant people in this country too but I would not blame the school system, everyone has the same opportunity some just do not take it. The point I would make though is there seems to be more in your country that are unaware of the rest of the world outside your borders.

Perhaps that is because 'you' think you are #1 but if so you will soon be replaced by people in countries who do understand that the world is a BIG place with a lot of people with different views (please note I said different not wrong or bad views) and if you continue to ignore these people you will sonn find yourselves looking up from #40 or 50.

His signature should speak volumes, Canuck. With an ego like his, he thinks he has all the answers, it would serve you better to go out in the yard a talk to a tree.

Re: Canadian opinion piece on Tea Party and US politics

Just out of the part you quoted:

Here's the thing, though: The Tea Party isn't putting forward any serious solutions to its own issues either, nor is the Republican Party, which, let's be serious here, is the Tea Party's party.

Tea Partiers want the deficit eliminated, but they also want their taxes cut. They want spending slashed, except for any spending that benefits them, meaning most federal spending.

Instead, it's all just a freak show, and heaven help us, we in the press corps share the blame for that. Secretly, we love the freak show. So do our editors.

That part right there is the White House position.

Re: Canadian opinion piece on Tea Party and US politics

So, the Canadian reporter identified America's problems, does he have an opinion on how to solve those problems?

Was it just 'America's ' problems? or did he not also mention the media?

Guess we will just have to keep reading to see if he has any opinion on 'solving' them.

Remember the first step in solving a problem is in identifying it and admitting it is a problem so maybe the next step is in your court.

Re: Problem's

We have identified the problem, to much government. We're fixing to do some thing about it on Nov 2nd.

Re: Problem's

Your walking around with your head in the clouds, pal. No one you will elect from your side of the isle, has a clue how to fix anything. Beanerbrain has already opened the door for failure, when he told you everything is going to be the same. I'd rather believe in the Democratic kind of change, than the kind of change the Tea Party has in mind.
