China trade

Stock, if not grain, markets seem to be hanging onto every little suggestion that there will be an agreement or even that there will be another pause.

Dunno. But is it possible that we'll get another NAFTA deal where Dennison caves for a phony cosmetic update and then comes back to tell his not-very-bright base that he's winnin' bigly?

There are some very big issues here with China and doing Putin's work of blowing up our historic alliances is not helpful.

But the Deep State (see Cuba, Venezuela, Iran) does sorta gets the urgency of China, IP and AI, so I'm not sure where we go.

Re: China trade

Which historical alliances?  The ones from when we avoided entangling relationships, or the ones where we paid other countries to be our allies?

That’s a crucial paradox, rather than a simple analogy.

Re: China trade

In some morning grain analyst notes I see a comment about above normal unhedged old crop beans in farmer's hands.

Interesting that everyone here had sold 3 years out before the trade spat- as had every farmer who gets interviewed by the lyin' media.
