Compartmentalization

Back in the stained blue dress days, Bill Clinton was described as a person that would "compartmentalize" various components of his lifes, ie his women, his beliefs, etc. A part of him could be the good family man, walking out church with a bible under his arm, and another part could be the lecher that was preying on interns. One part of the shyster could be up on the speech stump, claiming his support for the working stiff while another part would be collecting campaign money from big corps and going after NAFTA with both barrels. By 'compartmentalizing" the divergent parts, he could sleep at night and not be up at all hours worrying about his inconsistencies.

Anyone see some of that going on with the resident liberals?

Re: Compartmentalization

A great man once said that "politics is show business for homely people" and I think that`s about it, if someone wants power and has a little talent as an actor they can make it in politics.  You tell people what they want to hear.  this is why often times people lament at the lack of "statesmen", if a statesman is defined as winning people over by telling them the truth and gaining their trust to carry out the remedies that are prescribed.  Those can`t be elected today, an "actor" is a master liar and can manipulate what policies best feather his own nest and those pulling his strings, that is what`s elected today.

Compartmentalization, is a coping technique that a "actor" must use if they play the role of a evil person, to maintain some semblance of sanity.   They get to believing that they are special, however "the ends justify the means"  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Machiavellianism

Re: Compartmentalization

Sure, I was really rolling my eyes at the guy who wants to tax every penny out of anyone who makes more than him lecturing people about being jealous of those who are successful.   Sometimes they contradictions are pretty egregious.

Re: Compartmentalization

Actually, it is like the the Looney Left that screams about Man-caused Global Warming, and drives luxury cars, trucks, and deluxe motor homes without a single thought about their " carbon footprint ". When called on it, they scream back, "Your (GTO's spelling) JEALOUS !!"

Re: Compartmentalization

Never have you heard me want to tax every penny out of anyone. My point is that those upper income folks ought to pay higher rates than those with less modest incomes. When sammy and Don pay a higher tax rate than Rush or mitt or warren or Bill, there is something wrong with the tax code.

When business get to deduct depreciation before it occurs, there is something else wrong with the tax code. When ,money and power can buy legislation there is something wrong woth the tax code!

This is how the rich get richer at the expense of the poor under a progressive Almighty Big Government.

In fact the quotation is "politics is show business for ugly people".
