Re: This is a political issue twisted and cultivated to draw votes from xenophobes

Who is it that implemented the Arizona law and who is it suing to get it over turned?

I was thinking the same thing. the democrats have sat on there hands and did little . the most they probably have done is make themselves look foolish when Arizona started to inforce there law . Its a joke and even if they say the numbers in are down and the numbers of the ones going out are up are there numbers and can be manipulated to make the dems look good.

"Real true to the code wingers don't want immigration fixed any more than they do abortion."

Do you think elected Dems want immigration fixed?   To be honest I think many Dem party leaders look at immigration simply as a way to garner new Democratic voters and don't give a hoot that many of these people coming into our country illegally are being taken advanantage of and paid a less then living wage.

I give Obama credit for expanding the Secure Communities program, a fingerprint-sharing system run by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.  Trouble is there are several states and cities generally run by fellow Dems that refuse to cooperate with this program.

The overwhelming reason the numbers of illegals coming in has dropped has nothing to do with any government enforcement .  The main reason is the slumping economy has resulted in large numbers of jobs typically done by these folks to have be eliminated.

Re: This is a political issue twisted and cultivated to draw votes from xenophobes

I wonder why you keep talking as if there is any difference between what the R do and what the Ds do?   There is a big deal of difference between what each end says, the do do is all the same.   Both parties serve the same clients, special interests who use that labor pool.   Colorado agriculture has always used mexican migrants, sugar beets, the Hunt bros., the bracero program, when big money talks the border loosens up with a wink and a nod.   There is nothing politically partisan in what they do both sides fall over each other to kisssssaaasssssss.

Around here they have "settled" groups of "refugees" from some hot spots, like somolia, SE Asia, etc. close to the packing plants and feed yards.   The Seaboard Farms employees lots of mexicans, mostly legals who have settled in, but know they are bringing in Cubans.   The State Department controls a lot of that.

If they do not end prohibition soon the mexian and south american mafias will continue to colonize cities,

Nearly all R&Dn political issue are portrayed in some manner as distraction like the hysteria they create over immigration
