Could some one please pass this along to Bruce?

I just don't have the heart to tell him.

On Saturday, Carbonite CEO David Friend released a statement on his company’s website declaring that Carbonite had decided to “withdraw” advertising from Rush Limbaugh’s radio show in the wake of his controversial remarks involving Georgetown Law student Sandra Fluke because it will “ultimately contribute to a more civilized public discourse”:

Even though Mr. Limbaugh has now issued an apology, we have nonetheless decided to withdraw our advertising from his show. We hope that our action, along with the other advertisers who have already withdrawn their ads, will ultimately contribute to a more civilized public discourse.

However, it hasn’t done much to contribute to his company’s stock price. Since the market opened on Monday through its close today, Carbonite stock (NASDAQ:CARB) has plummeted nearly 12 percent, outpacing the drop of the NASDAQ index in that same time period by nine-and-a-half points. It was also one of the biggest decliners on the NASDAQ on Tuesday.

It looks like both Limbaugh and Carbonite are learning some expensive lessons.  However, Limbaugh will be back on top form within a week, Carbonite however, not being promoted by the King of Talk Radio, will begin to fade away from where they were and from where they could have been.

How about John Deere? Will they suffer the same Limbaugh kiss of death if they don't sponser his garbage?

It's simply amazing that you fellows find it appropriate to defend and support Limbaugh after this obvious ill mannered behavior.

And to top it off you rejoice that a business would suffer economic losses due to the decision to withdraw from supporting him. Your thinking is a bit irrational.

So Craig, You are saying that Carbonite's services can't sufficiently useful, or "market worthy" as to find a successful market acceptance UNLESS Mr. Limbaugh is hawking them?

Perhaps that's true of everything else he "sells" on his show........maybe his version of  "conservative values", too.   KenJ
