God I hope this isn't true, Ive been outspoken on this site at times about my military experience. 58,000 of my kind died in Vietnam for next to nothing. (By the way we won that war: won every major engagement) Why do we continue to spend so much time and more importantly spill so much blood over there. God help us.

God help us.  -  Well I tend to disagree on a couple of points.  Firstly,  those vets did not die for next to nothing,  they died for absolutely nothing.  With the americans paranoia about communism and flexing some military muscle, that is how and why they died.    Secondly,  I think you should research who won the vietnam war and here is a clue,  it was not the US.    Furthermore, if you are waiting for God to help you, as the US has done for some many years now, expect more of the same military excursions with many more good old boys to come home dead.  War is a way of life for the US and it is accepted by many is a right and justifiable way for their troops to die.  Something like a state of mind.
