Darn, thought our socialist president and his minions could pay off the debt

http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/warren-buffett-s-tax-solution-won-t-solv

Some have thought we could just tax the rich and solve all our problems.  Some also think just take all their money like other socialist/communist countries.  (that hasn't worked out too well)

The ONLY solution is to reduce the size of government. there is no way everyone can get something for nothing for an extended period of time.

Many companies have good cash reserves but are hesitant to to spend money because of uncertainty over health care, future government mandates and possible changing of the tax laws.  Friedman mention this this morning on CNN and mentioned how waiting for a super committee to finally start making some suggested decisions at Thanksgiving has many companies hesitant to take any action.   Time to roll up their sleeves and start making the tough choices they were elected to make.

Re: Darn, thought our socialist president and his minions could pay off the debt

There is nothing that I would invest in today if I had billions of dollars sitting around.  People don't have jobs and people are realizing that the Social Security program is a Ponzi scam.  That means that some of the smarter young people are cutting back and only buying what they really need.

After all, how many people really need a new refrigerator, a new car, a new dinning room set, a new TV or many of the other consumer things that really aren't any better just newer.

It's starting to dawn on some people that you can't spend more on new technology than what it saves.  If your old TV costs you money to watch and the new one is cheaper to watch by a few dollar  a year but you have to pay $1000 for the new one and pay interest on it besides you are losing money.

Some companies no doubt such as Google are buying other companies to get control of their patents but as far as starting up real industrial companies there is no incentive.  Indeed the government has basically said we don't want no stinking industrial jobs in America.  Because of the EPA, OSHA and the wacko environmentalist America has received a message, don't start any business here.

That added to the latest Democrat statements that unemployment checks and food stamps are good for the economy it's little wonder business is saying," let's look overseas for a place to start up something."

The US congress is a committee duly elected to be their district or state representative. I doubt the super committee is even constitutional as it diminishes the power of individual congressmen and senators that don't happen to be chosen for the assignment.

Only in your feeble little pea brain has anyone said that there is any ONE thing that will cure our mess!

Sorry but you are also wrong.  The "super committee" is just that a committee just like the agriculture committee and is only empowered to make recommendations for the rest of congress to vote on.  The big difference is that there can be no odd ball amendments tacked on to their recommendations.

Bart the  committee denies non chosen legislators to be involved in crafting the legislation and their only choice is to vote up or down on what the committee offers. My congressman should not be demoted to less political influence just because he was denied a seat at the table. Nothing just about it.

Bart, confiscate all of the income from the rich and it will hardly even put a dent in the national deficit, let alone the debt. There simply is not enough wealth in the nation to continue on the spending path we are on. The ONLY solution is to reduce the size of government. The sooner we face up to that very simple fact the less painful it will be.

So your ONE solution is to cut spending?  That'll do it?  And, I suppose you want most of that spending cut to be SS, Medicare and all and any other "entitlements" the tea party says cut, right?
